When there is a time for words
Silence rolls it's tumble weed
on a desolate street
where it belongs
Where do we belong, here?
and why do you know my name?
I feel those eyes watching time
Every step I make is geometric
and you wait for that mistake
I'll make when I fall
for every pleading word you say.
Now when the truth rolls in
I'll lead every sentence and begin
Roll out a blue print
With a map, where do we belong?
By the shape of our palms
You've got it all wrong
because I can never be her
and I can never be the one
Yet, here we are
Filling voids with sweet mistakes
and I know your name
and every geometric angle of your heart
No room for two
So I tip-toe around like so
Careful not to spill my love
Where ever we go
Until you go
Where you belong

Flames
How could I have doubted you
could be the one for me?
I thought I saw a ghost
but that was just me
I realize now, if its not too late
I'd like to build you a castle
and keep you from leaving today
I would throw myself under a train
once those words fall from your tongue
How could I have doubted
that you could be the one
We swallowed the night and watched our home burn
I blamed you but you said not a word
and in your silence flames praised our home
I knew right then you did not burn it alone
How could I have doubted you
could be the one for me?
I thought I saw a ghost
but that was just me
I realize now, if its not too late
I'd like to build you a castle
and keep you from leaving today
I would fight in every war
Once your empty eyes look away
How could I have doubted you
could be the one for me?
I stand beside our river bed
Waiting and collecting stones to throw
count the ripples until you decide it's time to go
I wish I could've been everything
but a ghost, they never show
You have been the one for me
How could I have not known?
could be the one for me?
I thought I saw a ghost
but that was just me
I realize now, if its not too late
I'd like to build you a castle
and keep you from leaving today
I would throw myself under a train
once those words fall from your tongue
How could I have doubted
that you could be the one
We swallowed the night and watched our home burn
I blamed you but you said not a word
and in your silence flames praised our home
I knew right then you did not burn it alone
How could I have doubted you
could be the one for me?
I thought I saw a ghost
but that was just me
I realize now, if its not too late
I'd like to build you a castle
and keep you from leaving today
I would fight in every war
Once your empty eyes look away
How could I have doubted you
could be the one for me?
I stand beside our river bed
Waiting and collecting stones to throw
count the ripples until you decide it's time to go
I wish I could've been everything
but a ghost, they never show
You have been the one for me
How could I have not known?
