Weather Man

An old lonely sailor once sang to me
said the world won't offer a thing but greed
bloodshed is how we will always succeed
Oh don't cry darling, tears are for war
And if crying were music we'd all be on tour

The Saddest Part

Lose yourself in the false sense of security
Miss your flights, miss your chance
Develop a plan, find gold in an idea
prepare to weigh your flight down
You are falling faster than you feel
You are going to die and it wont be sad
The world will not miss you
the world benefitted from your existence, not at all
but it watched you fall with your pockets full
Landing was never the issue, you've made bail
so you thought, dream away my dear
Time is given for you to mold
I see there is a smooth ride ahead for you
but nothing worth reading about someday
You've lost yourself so soon
Shiny objects and false fortune, desire
Power was never in your hands, not once
Power changes the world, not zeros
Even with all the big words you know
You've learned nothing at all
You are going to die alone
The world will forget you were here
They'll bury you with your heavy pockets
cause it's all you'll have left
There will be a few tears
those are only good-byes
you've done nothing unforgettable
you will be forgotten
The saddest part will be the truth
The world never needed you

Happy Birthday Ballon

Drawing out my maps with certainty
Spread across the floor, I am already packed
I've crashed into that wall one last time
Without question I just know my home
has always been an extended visit
I was the birthday ballon at every party
wishing the wind would un-tie my sting, let me go
It is about the reality of understanding
that understanding creates limits
Now I've got this pen in my hand
and these lines are all over and none have come to an end
because limits are for birthday parties
temporary excitement that will be forgotten after the sun goes down
and I can tell by the look in your eye
that it is time for me to find that windy day
close my eyes and wait for a release
roll up my scribbled maps and point
march to the future, solute farewell
because it is just my element
to not understand why or how
but if I shake it's hand myself, I'll find out
and when i meet limits, I'll send a postcard home
"Just in case you were wondering, I've landed, Happy Birthday"
For now my lines have promise
and my pen gave me the sailors mark to set sail
it's the perfect windy day
so Happy Birthday

TNE

There's no emotions
just solid words with
well constructed sentences
Make smiles form. where open arms
are always open
cause it is the only way I know how to
touch, or get close to anything
that makes anyone someone
fore tears become no more than an act
but there is something missing
there is something passing
there's no emotion
no frame to this photograph
just a use of words
study of being, growing and knowing
there's something missing
something passing
there's no emotion
only space
only time

Leveling

Through the quagmire populated with dreams
I've watched you scream for the sunlight
or any reason to believe you exist
but you hide like a child and yes
this was written for you
yes, I see right through your flighty flutes
yes, you are the reason my lungs fill and release
like some sort of super hero during the cold war
just know, if you were not to exist
my life would be purposeless
This probably doesn't make any sense at all
but life is a mystery you can not solve
so when you reach your peak of doubt
just find a place and level out
come find my place, and level out

Process the science of it.

Glass glistening in the corner of a cluttered room
find the source make it believe
the shadows only search for a purpose to
hate the sunlight and the beauty of knowing
we've no idea where we are going, so you
hear the perfect summer is somewhere
I'll take you there

Find a pool with youthful fish and
oh what a time to be alive, ever lasting
amazing to know years from now all of this
will be gone, so long, so long
above the peak where hawks fly
they know you and I only hide
to continue grasping the ability to cry and lie
our bright lights only search for a purpose to
hate the stars and the beauty of knowing
we've no idea where we are going, so you
find the source and make it believe the truth
the perfect night is somewhere
I'll take you there
